Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, who is currently visiting Brunei, had an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah today. The Sultan received Minister Yeo warmly and commented that Singapore and Brunei shared excellent relations.
Minister Yeo also called on His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah. They had a good exchange of views on various issues, and discussed ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In the evening, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, hosted a dinner for Minister Yeo. During their discussions, both Ministers reaffirmed the closeness of the long-standing bilateral relationship. They also had a free-flowing exchange of views on regional issues and stressed the importance of continued cooperation between Singapore and Brunei.
Minister Yeo returns to Singapore tomorrow.
