Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the 12th ASEAN Summit which will be held in Cebu, Philippines, from 12 to 15 January 2007. He will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yeo, Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Lim Hng Kiang and senior officials.
In addition to meetings of the ASEAN Leaders, Prime Minister Lee will participate in the ASEAN+3 and ASEAN+1 Summits, which include Leaders from the People's Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, as well as the ASEAN-India Summit. There will also be the 2nd East Asia Summit which includes all the ASEAN Leaders and their counterparts from Australia, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of India, Japan, the Republic of Korea and New Zealand.
Prime Minister Lee together with other ASEAN leaders will also meet the Eminent Persons Group who will present their report and recommendations on the drafting of the ASEAN Charter. Deputy Prime Minister Prof S Jayakumar is Singapore's representative in the Eminent Persons Group.
