Foreign Minister George Yeo and Indonesia Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda met in Cebu over breakfast on 12 January 2007 on the sidelines of preparatory meetings held in the run-up to the ASEAN Summit.
During their meeting, the Ministers touched on bilateral relations and also discussed regional and international issues. Indonesia currently holds a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and Minister Wirajuda briefed Minister Yeo on various topical issues, including the situation in Iraq. Both Ministers hoped that there would be an end to the cycle of violence in Iraq.
