Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore - $name

Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of the Republic of the Fiji Islands, the Honourable Kaliopate Tavola, will arrive in Singapore for a working visit from 19 to 21 December 2005. While in Singapore, Minister Tavola will sign the Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income (DTA) between Singapore and Fiji with Second Minister for Finance and Foreign Affairs, Mr Raymond Lim, on 20 December 2005.

The signing of the DTA will strengthen economic relations between Singapore and Fiji as it will alleviate the burden of double taxation on income earned in one country by a resident of the other. The DTA will help facilitate more cross-border economic opportunities for businessmen from both Singapore and Fiji.
