MFA Press Release: Foreign Minister George Yeo's meetings with Panama First Vice-President and Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Lewis Navarro and New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Raymond Peters in Busan, Korea

Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo met Panama First Vice-President and Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Lewis Navarro at the sidelines of the APEC Ministerial Meeting in Busan, South Korea, on 16 November 2005. They both look forward to the signing of a bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in the near future, and expressed the hope that the FTA will lead to enhanced economic and trade relations. They also agreed to cooperate and work closely at the Forum for East Asia and Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC).

Minister Yeo also met New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Raymond Peters separately on the same day. They reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations between the two countries, and discussed the upcoming East Asia Summit meeting. Minister Peters invited Minister Yeo to visit New Zealand.
