MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PRESS STATEMENT

Many Singaporeans have expressed their concern about friends and relatives visiting or working in the New York City area. So far, we have no information that Singaporeans are among the casualties.

Our Missions in New York and Washington D.C. are still working to ascertain whether there are in fact any Singaporeans involved. Since 2130hrs last night, 606 Singaporeans in the New York City area have either registered or have been registered by their relatives with the Ministry. Our Missions have been trying to locate those who have not contacted them to confirm their safety
