In response to press queries, the MFA Spokesman said:
"Singapore has noted this development. At the forthcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers' meeting on 11 August, we understand that the ASEAN ministers will discuss the latest developments in Cambodia, including the proceedings of the National Assembly yesterday on the election of Mr Ung Huot, as well as the next steps for ASEAN. Singapore will therefore await the outcome of the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers meeting of 11 Aug 1997."
