broad based education approach, SMU breaks new ground for being the first to introduce American-style pedagogy to Singapore’s tertiary education.

Modelled after the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, America's top business school, SMU's curriculum aims to groom outstanding business leaders and creative entrepreneurs capable of excelling in a rapidly changing and dynamic world.

SMU's programmes adopt a flexible, multidisciplinary approach towards managing the increasingly complex demands of modern businesses, notably with an emphasis on information technology, company internships, real industry application, student exchange programmes and overseas study missions. The objective is to develop well-rounded students with the ability to focus on specialised careers. To deliver the world-class curriculum, an outstanding faculty has been handpicked to advance knowledge in teaching and research. SMU also taps successful businessmen for their specific expertise and management skills to combine academic vigour with hands-on business savvy.

SMU is also the first to occupy a city campus, joining major cities like London, Paris and New York which all have established downtown campuses. Located in the heart of the city within the historical and cultural district of Singapore, the new 4.5-hectare urban campus has six buildings designed for dynamic learning and close interaction with the community.
