Security Advisory [27 October 2017]

               The Embassy has received information that there will be a planned demonstration on Sunday 29 October 2017 at 12.00 pm in Yangon.  Protestors are expected to gather at the Shwe Kaung BBQ and Hot Pot Restaurant at Kabar Aye Pagoda Road and thereafter at City Hall near the Sule Pagoda.  The demonstration is expected to last several hours.


2              You are advised to avoid the route which the protestors are expected to take (see attached map) and the City Hall/Sule Pagoda area.  Please be alert, exercise caution, avoid crowded places and monitor the local news.
