Together with SIF Chairman Ambassador Ong Keng Yong and SIF Executive Director Jean Tan, guests celebrated the growth and success of collaboration in education between SIF and its partners - the Indonesia Bright Foundation (IBF) and the Indonesian Professionals' Association (IPA). The IBF supports the education of Indonesian beneficiaries from elementary school pupils to undergraduate students from across Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Solo and Pati.
Under the inaugural SIF-IBA-IPF study visit in December 2015, four IBF scholars visited Singapore to learn and experience education, arts and culture and social innovation, and get to know the local community and life in Singapore. These scholars shared their experiences in Singapore during SIF Connects! Jakarta, and offered their insights and ideas for bridging Singaporean and Indonesian communities for a better world.
The SIF Connects! Jakarta event also commemorated the reappointment of SIF-ASEAN Fellow, Mochammad Nunung Kurniawan (Iwan), for a third term as SIF's representative in Indonesia.
SIF began its programmes in Indonesia in 1992, and continue to do wonderful work in Indonesia to build on the rich tapestry of friendships between the Singaporean and Indonesian communities, and enhance the close people-to-people relations between our two countries. We wish SIF continued success in its projects both in Indonesia, and beyond.
