The participants of the 35th Foundation Course continued their series of panel discussions at the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta on 10 May 2016.
They started the day with a session on ASEAN with Deputy Permanent Representative (ASEAN) Yu Pi-Hsien, followed by a discussion on environmental issues in Indonesia with Environment and Forestry Ministry Director of the Centre for Social Economic Policy and Climate Change Bapak Bambang Supriyanto, Head of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil Secretariat Bapak Herdradjat Natawidjaja and WWF-Indonesia Director of Communication and Advocacy Bapak Nyoman Iswarayoga.
A session on Indonesia's counter-terrorism efforts then followed with Executive Director of the Institute for International Peace Building Bapak Taufik Andrie and Director of the Centre for Radicalism and Deradicalisation Studies Bapak Adhe Bhakti. The day concluded with a discussion on political developments in Indonesia with House of Representatives Vice Chairman of the Committee for Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation and Commission I legislator Bapak Tantowi Yahya, Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan Chairman for Human Development and Culture Bapak Andreas Hugo Pareira, as well as Partai Demokrat Chairman for Press and Media Affairs Bapak Kastorius Sinaga.
Singapore civil servants from the 35th Foundation Course (FC) visited the North Cipinang Besar Child Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) on 8 May 2016. They learnt more about the Jakarta government's approach towards urban management, as well as the RPTRA initiative.
As a token of their appreciation, the 35th FC presented books and toys to the RPTRA. They also had a friendly futsal game with their hosts and made new friends in the process!
