Passport Applicants

The Consular Section processes applications for Singapore passports. Further information on the required documents is available at the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website.

Citizenship Registration

If a child is born in Switzerland and at least one parent is a Singapore citizen by birth, the parents may apply to register the child as a Singapore citizen by descent at the Mission. The registration should be as soon as it is convenient but before the child's first birthday. The passport application for the child can be concurrently submitted at the Mission.

The citizenship status of your child is an important matter and should be treated as such. We strongly urge parents to seek advice on the subject from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority or the nearest Singapore Mission before the birth of their child.

Further information on the required documents and processing time is available at the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website

Certificate of Clearance (COC)

The Certificate of Clearance (COC) is issued by the Criminal Investigation Department of Singapore Police Force to citizens of Singapore only to certify that a person has no criminal conviction in Singapore. Applicant must show documentary proof from the relevant consulate/immigration authority/government authority which clearly indicates that the production of the COC is required. For more information, please visit the Singapore Police Force website at www.spf.gov.sg

Notarial and Authentication Services

The Consular Section provides notarial and authentication services.

Any documents not issued by the Singapore Government authorities but which requires notarisation must be referred to a Notary Public first for notarisation. The Notarial Certificate then has to be presented to the proper Swiss authorities where the Notary Public's signature must be verified before presenting it to the Consular Section for the attestation of the signature of the Swiss authorities.
