Minister from the Prime Minister's Office Lim Swee Say was in Shanghai on 18 September to attend the Future China Business Forum 2012 co-organised by the Shanghai-Singapore Business Association - Singapore Club Shanghai (SSBA-SCS) and Business China. Also present at the event were Consul-General Ong Siew Gay, Chairman of Business China Mr Chua Thian Poh, Business China CEO Low Yen Ling and prominent business personalities from both Singapore and China.
In his keynote speech, Minister Lim affirmed the strong bilateral cooperation between Singapore and China, and encouraged both sides to continue to engage in mutual learning especially in view of future common challenges. CG Ong in his welcome speech encouraged Singapore companies to continue to uphold Singapore’s strong brand name and paid tribute to both Business China and SSBA-SCS for their effectiveness in enhancing commercial linkages.
Prominent speakers at the Forum included Ji Qi (China Lodging Group Founding CEO), Ms Rachel Eng (WongPartnership LLP Managing Partner), Mr Edward Yu (Analysys International Chairman and CEO) and Ding Wei (Temasek International Pte Ltd Head for China & Senior Managing Director).
