• Your Re-Entry Permit ("REP") is still valid, and has to be cancelled;
  • You are renouncing your Singapore Permanent Residence ("SPR") status


  1. Original Passport

    • Please place a tab or post-it on the page with your current, valid REP, for our cancellation
  2. Photocopy of your passport pages showing Name, date of birth, passport number, passport issue date, passport expiry date
  3. Original NRIC
  4. Original Certificate of Identity, if you were issued one
  5. Original REP card, if your were issued one
  6. Malaysian Restricted Passport, if you were issued one
  7. A letter addressed to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) stating:

    • That you wish to renounce your Singapore Permanent Residence;
    • Your request for a letter stating that you are no longer a PR of Singapore;
    • Include your complete contact details: address, phone and office numbers, and email address, for ease of communication
  8. Any other relevant documents issued to you by the Singapore Government agencies such as ICA, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Manpower, etc.
  9. Return Self-addressed. stamped USPS (US Post Office) EXPRESS MAIL envelope for the return of your passport to you.



  • NO FEE will be charged for the renunciation of PR.
  • Processing time: Approximately two to three months.
  • Once your documents are processed, the ICA in Singapore will mail you a letter confirming that you are no longer a PR of Singapore.
  • The letter is issued by the ICA, and not the Consulate.
