RESPONDING TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC WITH OPEN AND PREDICTABLE TRADE IN AGRICULTURAL AND FOOD PRODUCTS, 22 April 2020

23 Apr 2020

Singapore and other WTO members, accounting for over 60 percent of world agricultural exports, pledged on 22 April 2020 (87.08KB) to refrain from imposing restrictions on the free flow of food out of their countries. They also recalled the G20 Leaders agreement to not impose food export restrictions or extraordinary taxes on food purchased for non-commercial humanitarian purposes by the World Food Programme (WFP), and encouraged all WTO Members to do the same.
