The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialised agency of the UN, dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible international intellectual property (IP) system. Singapore actively participates in WIPO activities and enjoys strong cooperative relations with WIPO. The WIPO-Singapore office, officially inaugurated in June 2005, promotes closer relations and strengthens cooperation between WIPO and governments in Asia and the Pacific region, the private sector and civil society. In March 2006, Singapore hosted the WIPO Diplomatic Conference for the Adoption of a Revised Trademark Law Treaty. Singapore and WIPO have also partnered to deliver training and technical assistance through our MOU on Third Country Training Programmes (TCTP).
