The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is the principal United Nations’ specialised agency which seeks the promotion of social justice and internationally recognised human and labour rights. It has a unique tripartite structure in which workers and employers participate as equal partners with governments in its work. The Governing Body is the executive body of the ILO.  Singapore served on the ILO’s Governing Body as a Deputy Member from 2002 to 2008, and then as a Regular Member from 2008 to 2011.
