Withdrawal of CPF Contributions

If you wish to withdraw your Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributions, please refer to CPF’s website here for more information and to obtain the relevant application forms.

 

Closure of CPF account and withdrawal of contributions is not processed in Australia, but you may choose to complete and submit your CPF Account Closure form from Australia via the following three methods: (1) SINGPASS (online); (2) CPF website or (3) in-person at the Singapore High Commission in Canberra.

 

Method 1: SINGPASS

If you have a valid Singpass, you can submit your application form and supporting documents via “My Mailbox” without visiting the High Commission in Canberra

 

  1. Login to My Mailbox using your Singpass and 2FA-authentication.
  2. Click on +New Enquiry.
  3. Select subject Withdrawals due to Death / Leaving Singapore, and category Appeal – Withdrawal on Ground of Leaving Singapore and West Malaysia Permanently.
  4. Upload your completed application form (Form CPF-CA) and required supporting documents as stated under Important Notes on Page 5 of the application form.
    1. Have your supporting documents certified true copy by a local Notary Public, and then have the Notary Public authenticated by an Official at your nearest Australian Passport Office with an Apostille.
    2. You do not need to complete section 4 of the application form (“Witness Certification”).
    3. Note: if the file sizes are too large, you may need to submit using separate enquiries.
  5. Click Submit.

In addition, please take note of the following information:

  1. If you have a POSB, DBS, OCBC or UOB bank account maintained under your Singapore NRIC, at section 2 of the application form (“Bank Details and Certification”), fill in the details of this bank account.
  2. However, if your POSB/DBS/OCBC/UOB bank account is not maintained under your Singapore NRIC, or you intend to receive your CPF monies in another bank account, please submit:
    1. Your bank statement showing your bank account information and your residential address; and
    2. An additional document e.g. utilities/phone bill etc which matches your residential address on your bank statement.

 

Method 2: CPF WEBSITE

If you do not have a valid Singpass, but have a personal POSB, DBS, OCBC or UOB account maintained under your Singapore NRIC you can submit your application form and supporting documents via CPF’s website.

 

Please proceed to:

  1. Go to Write to Us.
  2. Select from A CPF member.
  3. Select subject Withdrawals due to Death / Leaving Singapore, and category Appeal – Withdrawal on Ground of Leaving Singapore and West Malaysia Permanently.
  4. Upload your completed application form (Form CPF-CA) and required supporting documents as stated under Important Notes on Page 5 of the application form:
    1. At section 2 of the application form (“Bank Details and Certification”), fill in the details of this bank account.
    2. Have your supporting documents certified true copy by a local Notary Public, and then have the Notary Public authenticated by an Official at your nearest Australian Passport Office with an Apostille.
    3. You do not need to complete section 4 of the application form (“Witness Certification”).
    4. Note: if the file sizes are too large, you may need to submit using separate enquiries.
  5. Fill in your personal details.
  6. Click Submit.

 

Method 3: IN PERSON AT THE SINGAPORE HIGH COMMISSION IN CANBERRA

 

If you do not have a valid Singpass, and do not have a personal POSB, DBS, OCBC or UOB account maintained under your Singapore NRIC, you will need to complete your CPF Account Closure Form at the Singapore High Commission in Canberra.

 

Under CPF requirements, you may choose to complete and submit the CPF account closure and withdrawal application at any Singapore Missions abroad in-person if the above methods 1 and 2 are not applicable to you. Submission by post or courier or witnessing via a video call is not allowed.

 

You will need to make an appointment. We have availabilities most mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday (excepting ACT public holidays) until booked out.

 

The High Commission now utilises an online booking system for appointments.

What you will need to bring is:-

 

  1. the original form, completed but unsigned – downloadable via this link;
  2. your valid passport;
  3. any supporting documents as required by CPF. The required documents differ from person to person. Please consult the CPF form for which documents apply to you;
  4. photocopies of those documents; and
  5. exact cash or an Australian money order (payable to ‘Singapore High Commission Canberra’) to cover the fee.  The fee is AUD$21 per form and AUD$6 per page certified true copy.

 

If you are not able to photocopy the supporting documents, we can do that for you, but we will charge a fee of AUD$1 per photocopy.

 

The completed CPF form and supporting documents will be returned to you at the end of the appointment to be posted to CPF’s office in Singapore at your cost. Their address can be found on Page 4 of the form.

If you are not able to come to Canberra, please contact CPF through the above link and request they waive the requirement to have your documents completed at an Overseas Mission.

 

If CPF is not willing to waive the requirement, you will need to wait until you can travel to their office in Singapore or to the High Commission in Canberra.
