MFA PRESS STATEMENT: VISIT BY SENIOR MINISTER OF STATE FOR HOME AFFAIRS AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS MASAGOS ZULKIFLI TO THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT, 6 TO 9 NOVEMBER 2012

          Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit Cairo, Egypt from 6 to 9 November 2012 to attend the graduation ceremony of Singaporean students studying in Al-Azhar Al-Shariff University on 7 November 2012.  He will travel directly to Egypt from Rome, Italy where he is attending the 81st Interpol General Assembly.

 

          Since its inception in 2009, the graduation ceremony, which is co-organised by the Singapore Embassy in Cairo and MUIS, has become an annual event.  In conjunction with the graduation ceremony, SMS Masagos will have a dialogue session with the Singaporean students as well as call on the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Shariff, Dr Ahmed Al Tayyeb.   

 

          While in Cairo, SMS Masagos will meet senior Egyptian leaders to explore avenues for enhanced bilateral collaboration. SMS Masagos will also meet a range of Egyptian interlocutors to exchange views on developments in Egypt and the region.
