MFA Press Statement: Working Visit by President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, 6 - 7 Apr 2017

President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani will make a working visit to Singapore from 6 to 7 April 2017. He will call on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana. President Ghani and Prime Minister Lee will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation between Singapore and Afghanistan. Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will host a working lunch for President Ghani.

President Ghani will also visit the Housing Development Board for a briefing on Singapore’s public housing policies, as well as speak at the National University of Singapore Society Dialogue on “Afghanistan – New Era, New Opportunities”.

President Ghani will be accompanied by Minister of Economy Abdul Sattar Murad, Minister of Mines and Petroleum (designate) Nargis Nehan, and a delegation of senior advisors and officials.
