Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam, who is in New York for the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), met his counterparts from Honduras, Lithuania and Senegal.
Minister Shanmugam and Minister of Foreign Relations of Honduras, Mireya Aguero de Corrales, discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Singapore and Honduras, and between Asia and Latin America through fora such as the Latin Asia Business Forum (LABF), as well as the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC).
With the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Linas Linkevicius, Minister Shanmugam discussed the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA) and the EU-Singapore Partnership Cooperation Agreement (EUSPCA). Minister Shanmugam thanked Minister Linkevicius for Lithuania’s support of the EUSFTA and the EUSPCA. Both ministers hoped that the two agreements would be ratified soon.
Minister Shanmugam and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Mankeur Ndiaye, discussed ways to deepen Singapore-Senegal relations through greater economic cooperation and the sharing of developmental experiences.
