The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan His Excellency Yerzhan Kazykhanov called on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana today. During their meetings with Minister Kazykhanov, President Tan and Prime Minister Lee noted the warm and friendly relations between Singapore and Kazakhstan. Minister Kazykhanov updated our leaders on economic developments in Kazakhstan and invited Singapore companies to explore business opportunities in the country.

During the dinner hosted by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam for Minister Kazykhanov yesterday, both Ministers agreed that there was scope to further strengthen bilateral relations, including economic links and people-to-people ties. They also had a useful exchange of views on developments in Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
