MFA Spokesman's Comments in response to media queries for an update on the status of Singaporeans affected by the fire at the Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel in Hat Yai, Thailand (31 Mar 2012)

In response to media queries for an update on the status of Singaporeans affected by the fire at the Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel in Hat Yai, Thailand, the MFA Spokesman said:

"Our Embassy in Bangkok is in contact with six Singaporeans who were at Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel in Hat Yai and has established that they are safe. Our Embassy also remains in close contact with the local Thai authorities, who have informed us that there are so far no Singaporeans among those injured in the fire. Our Mission will continue to monitor the situation closely, and render all necessary consular assistance to the Singaporeans affected by the fire."
