MFA Press Statement: State Visit by the President of the Republic of the Philippines His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III, 9-11 March 2011

The President of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III, will make a State Visit to Singapore from 9-11 March 2011 at the invitation of President S R Nathan.

President Aquino will be accompanied by Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Presidential Adviser on International Relations Mr Albert F. Del Rosario, Secretary of Finance Mr Cesar V. Purisima, Secretary of Trade and Industry Mr Gregory L. Domingo, Secretary of Energy Mr Jose Rene D. Almendras, Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office Mr Herminio B. Coloma Jr., senior officials, and a business delegation.

President Aquino will call on and be hosted to a State Banquet by President Nathan. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will meet President Aquino and host him to lunch. During his visit, President Aquino will also deliver a keynote address at a Singapore Business Federation-International Enterprise Singapore Eminent Leaders Lecture titled "Philippines - Partnership for Progress", as well as visit the Singapore Management University. In addition, President Aquino will visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens for an Orchid Naming Ceremony, the Changi Water Reclamation Plant, tour Changi Airport and meet the Filipino community in Singapore.
