VISA APPLICATIONS for India, Myanmar, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Nigeria, *Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, *Ukraine, Uzbekistan Passport Holders

* Russia & Ukraine nationals should furnish two sets of the required documents.

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Completed Visa Application Form No. 14A with one recent passport-sized photograph; (Please provide a daytime contact number and an email address on the application form or on a separate cover note.) [You may also go to http://www.ica.gov.sg/data/resources/docs/Visitor%20Services/Form%2014A.pdf to download the required Visa Application Form no. 14A.]
     
  2. Original passport (Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the last day of intended stay in Singapore.) and a photocopy of the following pages of your Passport (page 1, page with the current expiration date and last page for Indian passport holders);
     
  3. A clear copy of your valid US Resident Alien/Permanent Resident/Green Card or US visa.
     
  4. A photocopy of all the pages of your confirmed round-trip ticket originating from USA. If you purchased an Electronic Ticket, please provide a copy of the E-Ticket Receipt & Itinerary. A copy of your confirmed itinerary from the airlines may also be submitted. [Note: Reservation itineraries from a travel agent, Passenger Receipts and open tickets are not acceptable.] A valid visa to the next destination should be obtained (if applicable).
     
  5. A current Employment Verification Letter from your employer stating how long you have been employed, in what capacity and gross salary drawn monthly.
     
    • If you are a homemaker, please provide an employment verification letter (dated within the last 3 months) from your spouse’s current employer, a note from your spouse to indicate that he/she is submitting the document in support of your visa application AND a copy of your marriage certificate.
       
    • If you are a student in the USA, please provide a clear copy of pages 1 & 3 of your valid I-20 (page 3 is to be duly endorsed by your school representative) and a clear copy of your student's ID.
       
  6. Completed Letter of Introduction (Form V39A) from a Singapore citizen/Singapore Permanent Resident OR a Letter of Invitation from a Singapore registered company is required. Please see below for your specific situations:
     
    1. FOR BUSINESS VISIT:
       
      1. Letter of invitation from the company in Singapore. Letter should be issued on the company's letterhead, indicating the purpose of your visit, duration of your stay and the name & contact information of the liaison person in Singapore.
         
      2. Note that Letters of invitation from companies in the USA are not acceptable.
         
    2. FOR SOCIAL VISIT:
       
      1. Completed Letter of Introduction (Form V39A) from a Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident; and
         
      2. Local contact’s Singapore Identity Card (photocopy) and the following, where applicable:
         
        • Official Birth certificate (photocopy) of the local contact IF the applicant is the parent of the local contact; OR
           
        • Official Birth certificate (photocopy) of the applicant IF the applicant is the child of the local contact; OR
           
        • Official Marriage certificate (photocopy) IF the applicant is the spouse of the local contact.
           
      3. If you are unable to provide form V39A, please explain in writing and attach a copy of your confirmed hotel reservation for the duration of your stay in Singapore together with your visa application.
         
  7. Non-refundable Visa Fee is US$20.00
Incomplete Applications and Personal Checks will not be accepted.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR VISA APPLICANTS:

  1. The processing of visa applications would take approximately 5 business days from the date of receipt of complete applications. Applicants should therefore give allowance for processing and possible postal delays before their intended departure. The processing time required is independent of the mode of application (i.e. either by post or in person), there is no facility of expediting service. Depending on the documents produced, local sponsors (i.e. Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents) and security bond may be required.
     
  2. The permitted duration of stay is determined at the discretion of the Immigration Officer upon arrival at the Singapore Immigration Checkpoints. Regardless of the length of stay granted, visitors may apply for extensions of stay in person at the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority before the expiration of the entry permit.   3. Please note that visas issued are for Social / Business Visits only. From February 1, 2008, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) will no longer issue Professional Visit Passes (PVP) to foreigners working in Singapore on short term assignments. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will instead introduce two new Work Pass categories for such foreigners – the Miscellaneous Work Pass and the Work Permit (Performing Artiste).

    Miscellaneous Work Pass
    Instead of applying for a PVP, the following groups of foreigners will need to apply for the Miscellaneous Work Pass with effect from February 1, 2008:
     
    1. A foreigner who is involved in activities directly related to the organization or conduct of any seminar, conference, workshop, gathering or talk concerning any religion, race or community, cause, or political end;
       
    2. A foreign religious worker giving talks relating directly or indirectly to any religion; and
       
    3. A foreign journalist, reporter or an accompanying crew member not supported/sponsored by any Singapore Government agency to cover an event or write a story in Singapore.

    The Miscellaneous Work Pass is valid for up to 60 days.

    Work Permit (Performing Artiste)
    Foreign artiste performing at any bar, discotheque, lounge, night club, pub, hotel, private club or restaurant will need to apply for a Work Permit (Performing Artiste).

    The maximum duration of the Work Permit (Performing Artiste) is 6 months.

    Applications for the Miscellaneous Work Pass and the Work Permit (Performing Artiste) are to be submitted directly to the Ministry of Manpower by the company in Singapore.
