CONSULAR MATTERS – EXTENSION OF SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT

A passport that has run out of pages or reached its full validity, i.e. :

  1. 10 years (for passports issued before 1 April 2005); and
  2. 5 years (for passports issued from 1 April 2005) cannot be extended.

In such cases, application for a new Singapore International Passport should be submitted.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PASSPORT EXTENSION
  1. Completed Passport Application Form for Singapore International Passport (Form IMM(E)13) http://www.ica.gov.sg/data/resources/docs/Citizen%20Services/Form_IMM_E_13.pdf .

  2. Original Singapore Passport;

  3. Photocopy of National Registration Identity Card / Singapore Birth Certificate / Singapore Citizenship Certificate;
    1. If applicant is a minor, please also submit a copy of parents' NRIC / Passport.

  4. Copy of valid Exit Permit or Notice of Exemption for male applicants 13 years and above, whichever is applicable.
    1. With the launch of the BioPass on 15 August 2006, MINDEF has removed passport controls for NSliable males and allowed them to be issued with passports of full validity. With the issuance of passports of full validity, pre-enlistee passport holders will no longer need to renew their passports once every 2 years or 1 year. W.e.f. 15 August 2006, MINDEF has also extended exit permit requirements to males aged 13 to below 16.5.

  5. Please provide your address, contact number in USA and an email address in the space available on the application form.

  6. Please do an eRegister online at http://www.mfa.gov.sg/sanfrancisco .

NOTES: Processing time is normally 2 to 4 weeks from the date of receipt of the application.
