- With the launch of the BioPass on 15 August 2006, MINDEF has removed passport controls for NS-liable males and allowed them to be issued with passports of full validity. With the issuance of passports of full validity, pre-enlistee passport holders will no longer need to renew their passports once every 2 years or 1 year. W.e.f. 15 August 2006, MINDEF has also extended exit permit requirements to males aged 13 to below 16.5.
