APPLICATION FOR SINGAPORE CITIZENSHIP
The following are some categories of person who may apply for Singapore citizenship:
1. Adults (at least 21 years of age) who have been Singapore Permanent Residents for 2 to 6 years prior to the date of application.
2. Singapore Permanent Residents who have satisfactorily completed full-time National Service.
3. Spouse of Singapore Citizen with a minimum of 2-year SPR and married for at least 2 years preceding the date of application.
4. Child born outside Singapore whose parent is a Singapore citizen.
Children born in Cambodia to Singapore Citizens
A child born to Singaporeans in Cambodia may be eligible for Singapore Citizenship by Descent under Article 122(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, if any of the following conditions can be met:
Important Note:
Application to register a child born to Singapore citizens must be submitted before the 1st birthday of the child. Otherwise, a letter of explanation will be required for late submissions.
Application Forms
Application forms for Singapore citizenship and the list of documents required to accompany the application may be obtained from the Embassy during office hours, or downloaded online from ICA’s website.
Submission
Once you have all the documents ready for the application, please call the Embassy Consular Officer to arrange for an appointment to submit the application.
Fee
US$59 for processing of application (non-refundable) US$46 for citizenship registration (if application if approved)
Processing Time
Approximately 3½ months. However some applications may take longer.
