Singaporeans travelling to Japan should be prepared for occasional tremors. Please pay close attention to and heed any instructions from the local authorities in the event of an emergency.
Singaporeans should avoid unnecessary travel to the areas immediately around the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant which the Government of Japan has designated as "Restricted Area" and "Deliberate Evacuation Area". Please refer to the following link for a map of the areas.

Reports of local cases of radiation sickness resulting from travel to Japan have not been substantiated. Medical practitioners have been informed to refer suspected cases of radiation sickness associated with travel to Japan to the public hospitals for assessment and management. Confirmed cases will be notified to the Ministry of Health (MOH).
