Re-Entry Permit Application and Extension

A valid Re-Entry Permit (REP) is necessary whenever a Singapore permanent resident (SPR) wishes to travel out of Singapore. It will enable you, as an SPR, to retain your PR status while you are away. A SPR who leaves Singapore or remains abroad without a valid REP will lose his SPR status. With the launch of e-REP, ICA will cease to issue REP in the form of endorsements or REP cards for all REP applications approved on/after 2 January 2009.

From 2 January 2009 onwards, the Consular Section of the Consulate-General will cease to collect the applications for and renewal of REP on behalf of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). SPRs can renew or transfer their REP online, anywhere and at anytime, with the introduction of a new e-service - Electronic Re-Entry Permit or e-REP in short by the ICA. The e-REP allows for quick, efficient and hassle-free online transactions which aims to reduce the need for SPRs to physically come down to the Consulate-General/ICA Building for the transfer or renewal of their REPs.

All current REP endorsements and REP cards issued prior to the launch of e-REP remain valid until their expiry date, provided that they have not been cancelled or invalidated by ICA.

For more information on and the application procedures for e-REP, please visit the ICA website at http://www.ica.gov.sg/news_details.aspx?nid=11771&secid=
