Suspension of Consular Counter Services at the Singapore Consulate in New York on 6th May 2016
The Singapore Consulate in New York will be designated as an Overseas Polling Station from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm on Friday, 6th May 2016 for the by-election for Bukit Batok Constituency. Please note that consular counter services at the Consulate will be suspended during the said period. Should you require urgent consular assistance, please contact +1 917 293 4540. Consular counter services at the Consulate will resume on Monday, 9th May 2016.
Please also note that on 6th May 2016, only overseas electors who have registered to vote at the New York overseas polling station will be permitted to enter the premises to cast their votes. For every overseas elector who is eligible to vote, a poll letter from the Elections Department will be mailed to his/her overseas address. The poll letter will contain details of the date and hours of polling at his/her allotted overseas polling station. A similar email poll letter will also be sent to those who have provided valid email addresses in their application forms. Alternatively, overseas electors can access the Election Department’s eServices at http://www.eld.gov.sg/online.html with their SingPass to check on polling day details. Overseas electors should bring their poll letter and original NRIC or passport to the overseas polling station.
