Technical Cooperation Programme for the Philippines
As a small country whose only resource is its people, Singapore believes that human resource development is vital for economic and social progress. One factor which helped Singapore’s development is the valuable external help it received from other countries and international agencies in the early years of its development. It benefited from the training provided by them, and avoided their mistakes. In turn, Singapore shares its development experience with other nations like the Philippines through the Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP).
Over the years, more than 2,100 Filipinos have gone for training courses under the SCP in a wide range of fields ranging from economic development to e-Commerce and even zoo management. For the full list of courses and more information on the SCP, please click here. The Philippines is also a major recipient of various scholarship and fellowship programmes, including the Singapore Scholarship, which is carried out under the SCP. All applicants for the SCP courses should be public servants and have an endorsement from their respective governments. For the Philippines, applications for SCP courses should be submitted to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for endorsement. Please contact the Embassy at +63 2 856 9922 or TESDA at +63 2 817 9095 for more information.
