PRESIDENT Tony Tan Keng Yam has sent his congratulations to new Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, calling his election 'a reflection of the people's confidence in your leadership in these uncertain times'.
Noting the strong bilateral relations nurtured between Singapore and India over many years of cooperation, Dr Tan says in his letter that he looks forward to meeting his counterpart and to deepen the friendship between the two countries.
Mr Mukherjee was sworn in on Wednesday as India's 13th president.
