MYANMAR'S Union Minister of Foreign Affairs Wunna Maung Lwin called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday as he ended a three-day introductory visit to Singapore.
In their meeting, they pledged to further strengthen ties between the two countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.
The Myanmar minister also updated Mr Lee on recent developments in his country and expressed appreciation for Singapore's support of its reforms, while Mr Lee reaffirmed the support.
Yesterday, Mr Wunna Maung Lwin also met Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam, who reiterated Singapore's readiness to help Myanmar prepare for its chairmanship of Asean in 2014. They also discussed issues such as the Singapore-Myanmar Technical Cooperation Programme.
The Myanmar minister also called on Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on Monday.
