Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Member of the Political Bureau, Central Party Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr Le Thanh Hai, who is currently visiting Singapore under MFA's Distinguished Visitors' Programme, met Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo on 27 June 2008. Mr Hai and Minister Yeo had a fruitful discussion on current global economic trends and common challenges faced by Singapore and Vietnam. They also reaffirmed the close bilateral relationship between the two countries, and exchanged views on how to enhance bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City.
