Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono made a working visit to Singapore on 6 August 2006. President Yudhoyono was accompanied by First Lady Kristiani Herawati, and a delegation of Indonesian Ministers.

During his visit, President Yudhoyono met Singaporean business personalities and attended a business luncheon. He also met Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.

President Yudhoyono also had a "four-eye" meeting with PM Lee. During their meeting, both leaders discussed a range of bilateral and international issues, including the situation in the Middle East and developments in ASEAN. On bilateral relations, PM Lee and President Yudhoyono discussed the implementation of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Batam, Bintan and Karimun. Both leaders also reaffirmed the importance of making progress on the parallel negotiations for the Extradition Treaty, Defence Cooperation Agreement, and Counter-Terrorism Cooperation Agreement.

PM and Mrs Lee later hosted President Yudhoyono and First Lady Kristiani Herawati as well as the accompanying Indonesian Ministers to dinner.
